The Holidays Continue...

Hello Year 2
I hope your holiday is going well. I'm still with Miss Ash in Toulouse and I'm enjoying the sunny weather in the daytime, but it's a bit frosty for my night-time digging! Some people think that moles hibernate (have a long sleep) in the winter but it's not true so I'm as busy as usual.

I visited the Christmas market in Toulouse last week and was fascinated by all the delicious smells. Miss Ash took Finn, my cousin, and me on the merry-go-round in Place Wilson. We loved it! I rode on a horse that went up and down and Finn sat on a chair that spun around.
Yesterday we all went for a big long walk along the river Garonne. It was very muddy but sunny and quiet. We did see some other people though; some mud-coated cyclists, a girl riding a horse (a real one not a merry-go-round one) and two big boys playing on a quad bike.  When we got home we watched ‘The Borrowers’ and played a board game called Blockus. Have you been playing any board games?
Finn goes home tomorrow and I’ll really miss him.  Molly and Edna left yesterday. During her stay I asked Edna about traditional clothes from Japan and she showed me this picture.
It is called a kimono. Kimonos used to be worn by men, women and children but now they are mainly worn by women on special occasions. Would you like to wear a kimono?
I hope you have been having a good time with your family.
Love
Monty

Monty's Christmas Holidays

Hi boys and girls. Monty here! Are you having a good time on your holidays so far? I've been really busy getting things ready for my family who arrive this week.
My sister, Molly, arrives on Wednesday from Manchester in England and my aunty, Edna, flies over from Tokyo in Japan, later on today.
On Saturday I made the marzipan for my Christmas cake. There was some left over so I made some sweets, shaped like apples.
On Sunday I went Christmas shopping in Toulouse. I loved seeing all the twinkling Christmas lights but I had to do lots of ducking and diving between the legs of all the busy shoppers. Only one more present left to buy now and that's for my cousin, Finn. He loves sports. Can anyone help me think of some good present ideas for Finn?
Here are some pictures of me with the cake and sweets.

A weekend with Mimi

On Saturday I was having a great time with Monty. He was very nice in the weekend. We played lots of gamse on the computer like Pixie Hollow.
Next it was lunch time so we ate rice and sausages but Monty thinks that was abit yukky but he tried and he liked.
He really liked the sausages so he ate all the sausages that there is none for us. My sister and my dad went to Carrefour and bought a present for me! On Sunday Monty and I ate smartie ice creams because it was very hot! At lunch time we ate bean soup and rice. Me,Monty and my mum went outside to ride our scooter Monty went in my sister's basket.

At Irene's house for the weekend

A weekend with Isabel

This weekend Monty enjoyed visiting Isabel's house. In the mornings, Monty woke up in a bed just in front of Isabel´s. He had breakfast together with all the family. Monty likes cookies!

Sunday morning we went to the market. Isabel rode the bike with Monty in her basket. Monty helped us selecting the best oranges, bananas and a pineapples.

A long weekend with Olivia

Dear Y2,
Monty spent the weekend with me (Olivia) and we had a great time together. When we got home from school, Monty met my dog Megan - they got on really well together and I was glad. My mum made pizza for tea but Monty told me that he wanted worms instead, my mum said that Monty would have to have the same food as us
because she doesn't like worms. Monty enjoyed the pizza and he said that mozeralla cheese is yummy!

We read lots of Paddington Bear books together and Monty wondered if he might get a hat because he liked the way that Paddington kept marmalade sandwiches under his!

After a good nights sleep we cycled to LĂ©vignac together to buy a baguette. Whilst we were there, we joined in with some school children who were singing the French National Anthem to remember the soildiers who died in the war.

The next day we took Megan for a walk and it was really windy. After that my mum made us tidy the play room - but we didn't mind because Monty made friends with all of my toys - he can't wait to come again!
Thank you for coming to my house Monty,
with lots of love, from Olivia x

A weekend with Jesse and Ryan

We took Monty to the boulangerie and we got some desserts there. I got a round cake with whipped cream and an orange on top and Ryan got a chocolate eclair and Mommy got a tart.I think Monty would like the chocolate eclair the most!

Monty also drove to the airport with us to pick up Daddy who was coming back from Washington DC. His plane came in late so Monty had to stay up past his bedtime, even though he is a mole and probably doesn't have a bedtime!" :~)

Monty spends the holidays with Alicia

The first adventure Monty had was in the washing machine. He went round and round for one whole day. He said that he didn’t like it.

He was very, very wet when he came out of the washing machine. He is very excited for Monday and Tuesday because on Monday it is Halloween and on Tuesday because the Samon Ash’s are coming. He is fine here, love from Alicia

When we went to the forest I realised that I had left Monty at home so we took leaves home (as you can see on the picture) and we made our own forest. It was wet that day. In the forest there was a lake. The lake was very low so we could walk in the water and me and Noah threw stones. The forest was good.

Monty is being very good, love from Alicia
